Job summary

Rexco Equipment, Inc. in Farley, Iowa is seeking a Service Advisor Manager to run the shop floor, lead a team of technicians, and own department results. You’ll oversee work orders, schedules, warranties, and financials while prioritizing safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

You’ll conduct regular one-on-ones, coach the team, and drive process improvements to hit department goals. This is a hands-on leadership role with strong people management and operational responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of related experience in service-advisor roles.
• Proven leadership experience and ability to mentor others.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with customer-facing skills.
• Highly organized and able to juggle priorities.
• Honest, direct, and comfortable with tough conversations.
• Proficient across multiple computer systems.
• Business management degree or equivalent preferred.

At Rexco Equipment, our Service Advisors don't just manage work orders - they run their department like a business. You'll lead a team of technicians, own your numbers, and be the person customers count on when their equipment needs to get back to work. If you're organized, decisive, and energized by both people management and customer relationships, this role has a lot to offer.

What you'll own:

You'll start each day on the shop floor, checking in with your technicians, keeping jobs on track, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. From there, you'll manage the full service operation - opening and closing work orders, monitoring the schedule, filing warranty claims, balancing revenue against expenses, and identifying where action plans are needed to hit department goals. You'll also conduct regular one-on-ones with your techs, handle performance conversations, and develop the team over time. This is a role with real leadership responsibility, not just administrative support.

What we're looking for:

• 5-10 years of related experience; service writer/advisor background in any industry is a strong plus
• Solid leadership skills - you've managed or mentored people before and know how to keep a team engaged
• Mechanical aptitude with the communication skills to bridge the gap between technicians and customers
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
• Honest, direct, and comfortable having tough conversations when needed
• General computer proficiency; ability to work across multiple systems simultaneously
• Business management degree or equivalent experience preferred
