Job summary

Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa in Frisco, TX seeks an guest-focused server for high-volume dining venues. You will greet guests, take food and beverage orders, and interact with the culinary team to accommodate dietary needs.

Proficiency with MICROS, cash handling, and knowledge of wine, spirits and beer are essential for service excellence. The role requires a minimum 1-year serving background, full-time availability including weekends and PM shifts, and certifications or the plan to obtain them

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year serving experience in a high-volume setting.
• Full-time availability including weekends; PM shifts.
• Food Handlers and TABC certification or obtain upon hire.
• Knowledge of wine, spirits and beer; experience selling cocktails.
• Clear and pleasant English communication with guests and staff.
• Ability to input information into MICROS accurately.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a smile and provide superior customer service.
• Take orders and advise on food, beverages, and daily specials.
• Communicate dietary needs to the culinary team.
• Record transactions in MICROS and handle cash.
• Ensure tables are set, served, and cleaned; maintain cleanliness.

Overview

The Apron is a suburban destination for creative Texas and California fare with spectacular views of Fields Ranch Golf Course at Omni PGA Frisco Resort. Healthy breakfast and brunch fare is served throughout the day. Delectable morning pastries, Stance Coffee and gelato are available from the bar plus a blend of smart, creative drinks at prime times from the bar. A gem in the resort, the menu is built around seasonal ingredients, healthy breakfast, brunch and lunch.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of the dining room.
• Must have full familiarity with menus and beverage offerings.
• Greet guests when entering the restaurant with a pleasant smile and superior customer service.
• Take orders and answer questions/offer suggestions on both food and beverage menu selections, and daily specials.
• Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests.
• Record transaction in MICROS system at time of order and adhere to cash handling standards.
• Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage.
• Present accurate check to guest and process payment.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
• Process station set-up and break-down and complete all other side work duties as assigned.
• Ensure tables are set up properly, including polishing and cleaning glasses.
• Service to guests according to Omni Moments of Service Standards.
• Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained.
• Clean, clear and reset service areas.
• Protect the hotel from liability with regard to over serving guests.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the restaurant manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year serving experience, high volume sports/live entertainment bar experience preferred.
• Full-time availability, to include weekends, PM shfits
• Must have unexpired Food Handlers and TABC – or obtain upon hire.
• Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting specialty mixed cocktails.
• Previous cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers.
• Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS.
• Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Position requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, twisting, and consistent use of hands and arms.
• Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments.
