Job summary

Nhccare at NHC Place Cool Springs in Franklin, TN is seeking a Server/ Dishwasher to support patient meals and maintain a clean, welcoming dining environment. This role involves dishwashing, bussing tables, and basic foodservice tasks in a compassionate healthcare setting.

We offer Part-Time and Full-Time positions with flexible scheduling, on-site work, and opportunities for advancement. Training is provided, and benefits include meals during shifts and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Must have sincere interest in foodservice and care for geriatric patients.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and daily use.
• Willing to perform repetitive tasks.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Able to follow oral or written instructions.
• Able to read English and basic labels.
• Food Handlers Certificate or Sanitation Course may be required.
• Healthcare food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport and store dishes, flatware, utensils, pots/pans, etc.
• Clean and sanitize the dish machine and dish room.
• Scrape, wash, and sanitize dishes, flatware, utensils, pots/pans, etc.
• Wrap flatware when needed.
• Bus tables and sanitize tabletops.
• Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.
• And other duties as assigned.

Your Role / Responsibilities

• Properly transport and store dishes, flatware, utensils, pots/pans, etc.
• Clean and sanitize the dish machine and dish room
• Scrape, stack, wash, & sanitize dishes, flatware, utensils, pots/pans, etc
• Wrap flatware if needed
• Bus tables in dining room and clean/sanitize tabletops
• Assist in receiving and storing food/ supplies to prevent waste and assure quality products
• And other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must have a sincere interest in foodservice and enjoy working with geriatric and other healthcare patients.
• Must have knowledge of, or be willing to learn, correct sanitation procedures and use these on a daily basis.
• Must be willing to perform repetitive tasks daily.
• Must possess and use excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions.
• Must be able to speak and understand English. May be required to have reading skills.
• Must be able to read and/or understand labels on chemicals and MSDS sheets and be able to use these products safely and correctly.
• Must be in good mental and physical condition.
• Must work cooperatively and productively with all partners in FNS and in all departments following established policies of the center.
• Must be willing to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, must be at work on time and during scheduled shift.
• May be required to have or obtain a Food Handlers Certificate or Sanitation Course, as required by state regulations.
• Must be able to work under supervision.

Experience:

• Healthcare food service experience preferred but not required—we’ll provide the training you need to succeed!
