Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is seeking a Server at Big Cedar Lodge to provide courteous and efficient dining service at an assigned station. You will learn menus, communicate offerings, and use suggestive selling to enhance guest experience in a lively resort setting.

The role involves taking and entering orders, monitoring kitchen progress, transporting meals to guests, handling payments, and supporting daily station duties. A positive team player with strong service orientation is ideal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in consumer service or hospitality.
• Ability to memorize menu items and communicate offerings.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous dining service at assigned station.
• Utilize suggestive selling to promote menu items.
• Record and enter orders into POS; monitor order status.
• Safely transport orders from kitchen to guest.
• Handle guest payments and tipping procedures.
• Assist with daily cleaning and station setup/breakdown.
• All other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Server has the responsibility to serve guests in an assigned station by providing courteous and efficient service that meets or exceeds guest’s dining expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• - Supports a strong commitment to world class guest service and ensures a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience for restaurant patrons.
• - Completes training requirements and follows service standards as trained.
• - Greets guests promptly and courteously in assigned workstation.
• - Understands and executes established procedures for verifying guest’s ability to legally purchase and consume alcohol and knows how to prevent a guest from overindulging.
• - Learns all menus and can communicate all food and beverage offerings.
• - Effectively uses suggestive selling techniques.
• - Records food and beverage orders, enters orders into computer system, monitors status of order preparation and safely transports order from kitchen to guest.
• - Monitors and addresses guest needs during meal.
• - Collects monies owed for food and beverages and properly performs all guest check accountability procedures.
• - Performs tip declaration activities and compensates indirectly tipped associates, i.e., Bussers, Bartenders, Runners, as per established service procedures.
• - Performs daily cleaning activities.
• - Performs food running and station set-up / break-down responsibilities as assigned.
• - ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• - High school diploma/GED preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

• - Experience in and passion for consumer service
• - Willingness to learn new skills and be a team player
• - An attitude of flexibility and mindfulness about the team approach
• - Learn all menus and is able to communicate all food and beverage offerings
• - Clean and clear service areas
• - Follow proper procedures as disclosed in Standard Operating Procedures as explained to staff
• - Ability to memorize and become knowledgeable of menu items

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• - N/A

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• - Regularly walks and stands.
• - Occasionally lifts up to 50lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

- P erforms tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
