Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices in Secaucus, NJ seeks an Engineering Lab Supervisor to lead multidisciplinary teams delivering advanced server system testing and validation. You will oversee environmental, thermal, mechanical, failure analysis, and EMI/EMC testing across multiple labs and coordinate with operations and site leadership to ensure timely, safe, and effective testing.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams in a laboratory, server, hardware, systems, or product‑validation environment.
• Knowledge of server systems, racks, board‑level hardware, and system‑level engineering concepts.
• Familiarity with server hardware debugging, technical triage, and root‑cause analysis.
• Understanding of Linux operating environments.
• Exposure to server cooling methods, including air, liquid, or immersion cooling.
• Experience supporting engineering testing, laboratory operations, equipment maintenance, or product validation.
• Familiarity with testing areas such as thermal/environmental testing, shock/vibration, failure analysis, or EMI/EMC testing.
• Ability to coordinate projects and resources across engineering, laboratory operations, warehousing, and site functions.
• Interest in using AI-enabled tools or automation to improve process management and scheduling.
• Openness to learning technical disciplines outside of one’s primary area.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a multidisciplinary team of engineers responsible for laboratory testing and engineering activities.
• Oversee daily engineering operations across multiple laboratories including thermal and environmental testing, mechanical shock, and EMI/EMC testing.
• Coordinate server and rack‑level testing activities, schedules, resources, and customer deliverables.
• Partner with laboratory, warehouse, operations, and site managers to secure resources for successful testing.
• Monitor experiments, respond to issues, and coordinate troubleshooting and reporting.
• Ensure engineers are trained and equipped to test safely and effectively.
• Review upcoming product needs to ensure labs have necessary capabilities and equipment.
• Improve laboratory processes, scheduling, workflows, and operational efficiency, including AI-enabled tools.
• Within 60–90 days, assume ownership of operations, projects, and stakeholder relationships.
• Occasionally provide after-hours or weekend coordination; support travel <10%.
