Job summary

OWA Parks & Resort is looking for a Server Shift Lead to oversee daily shift operations and ensure quality service. This role involves monitoring transactions, training staff, and maintaining operational standards throughout the shift. Ideal candidates should have a high school diploma and two years of restaurant experience, with supervisory experience preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential. Working odd hours is required as the business operates seven days a week.

Job description

Server Shift Lead

The Server Shift Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily shift operation of the Servers. The Server Shift Leader monitors and/or performs all transactions in such a manner as to attract and retain guests while contributing to the operating success. The Server Shift Leader shall report directly to the Restaurant General Manager and/or Assistant Restaurant Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for verification and balancing of server banks and all appropriate reports.
  • Participates in the training of all new and current FOH staff including servers, Restaurant cashiers and Deli staff while serving.
  • Confers regularly with the Restaurant General Manager and/or Assistant Restaurant Manager to communicate customer/employee requests and keeps informed of any changes in operating procedures.
  • Ensures the physical condition of the premises is maintained in a safe, healthy manner.
  • Ensures that all prepared food products meet the established specifications and standards.
  • Ensures prompt delivery & expediting of food as needed.
  • Ensures the minimum level of labor is used to perform the required level of production.
  • Ensures the complete set‑up, stocking, and service of assigned food outlet(s) using specified methods during the assigned shift.
  • Completes required daily reports to ensure the appropriate ordering and stocking of food products.
  • Communicates variances from standards to the Restaurant General Manager and/or Assistant Restaurant Manager.
  • Must always be friendly and courteous, ensuring excellent customer and employee relations and adhere to the established Dress Code.
  • Must maintain a clean, safe work environment before, during and after service, in a team effort to maximize employee efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensures all task list and duties assigned to staff are met and supports all other dinner managers in achieving this goal.
  • Ability to comply with all other requirements as specified within the CIEDA Personnel Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two (2) years verifiable related employment experience in restaurant required, supervisory experience preferred.
  • Verifiable experience in implementing and maintaining food production operational standards.
  • Must have working knowledge of computers with the ability to work in a Windows environment with various software programs such as Word, Excel, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and use all equipment and register system necessary to run the 24‑hr. Diner.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and co‑workers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Willing and able to work odd, irregular hours as business dictates in a restaurant environment that is open seven days/week.
  • Ability to comply with all other requirements as specified within the CIEDA Personnel Policies and Procedures.
  • Internal Promotion must have completed 90‑day probational period, must have worked as a server (1) for 6 months or be in a level (1) position in a direct line skill set or transfer to a direct line skill set at a level (1) for 6 months.
  • Must work as a Server (1) for 6 months and be certified in all positional requirements, pass interview, & a positional slot is available to move to a Server Shift Leader (2).
