Job summary

Distinctive Living in Clifton, NJ is seeking a part-time Server for Mira Vie at Clifton, with shift 3:30pm–7:30pm and every other weekend. The Server will support dining room and hospitality operations under the Director of Restaurant and Hospitality.

Responsibilities include ensuring high quality service, catering to resident needs, maintaining cleanliness, and promoting a safe, team‑oriented dining environment with a focus on compassionate care for elderly residents.

Responsibilities

• Develops a positive customer service culture in the dining room through staff training.
• Ensures staff provides service that maintains resident experiences during meals and balances quality and speed.
• Maintains a clean dining room including equipment, walls, tables and chairs, linens, and condiments.
• Ensures safe work practices and compliance with the Safety Committee Standards; assists as needed with inquiries and injuries.
• Fosters teamwork and a positive impact on residents and visitors.

Welcome to Distinctive Living, we’re seeking a Server (Part Time 3:30pm- 7:30pm with every other weekend) for our Mira Vie at Clifton in Clifton, NJ community!

The Server is responsible for all activities in the Restaurant and Hospitality Department under the direction of the Director, Restaurant and Hospitality. Responsible for quality of service delivery during meal service, compliance with special diets offered by the community, and communicating with Distinctive Living on all appropriate matters.

Essential Functions

1. Develops a positive customer service culture in the dining room through staff training. Evaluates the quality of service and develops systems to maximize the efficiency of meal delivery while maintaining a pleasant dining experience.
2. Ensures staff provides service that maintains good resident experiences during meal times. Circulates in the dining room to ascertain resident preferences and satisfaction with meals. Develops service systems that balance quality and speed of meal delivery.
3. Maintains a clean dining room. This includes all equipment, walls, table tops and bases, and chairs. Ensures linens are changed as needed and tabletop condiments and salt and pepper shakers are kept clean.
4. Ensures they and any employees working with them work in a safe manner and that unsafe actions are managed. Compliant with Safety Committee Standard. Should workplace injuries occur, the Department Heads and Directors are to assist the Executive Director when required with the investigation, return to work, and management of the injured worker communication with care provider and Distinctive Living.
5. Fosters teamwork with co-workers, shows initiative in overcoming obstacles, takes actions which assist others beyond job responsibilities, and has a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors.
