Job summary

Distinctive Living is seeking a courteous, part-time Server to join the Mira Vie at Brick dining team. You’ll help deliver quality meals, greet residents, and support the dining room in a friendly, professional manner.

Ideal candidates are customer-service oriented, with experience in food service and a genuine desire to work with the elderly. You’ll help maintain a clean dining area and follow safety and dietary guidelines while providing a warm resident experience.

Welcome to Distinctive Living, we’re seeking a Server (Part-Time) for our (Mira Vie at Brick)

The Server is responsible for all activities in the Restaurant and Hospitality Department under the direction of the Director, Restaurant and Hospitality. Responsible for quality of service delivery during meal service, compliance with special diets offered by the community, and communicating with Distinctive Living on all appropriate matters.

Essential Functions

1. Develops a positive customer service culture in the dining room through staff training. Evaluates the quality of service and develops systems to maximize the efficiency of meal delivery while maintaining a pleasant dining experience.
2. Ensures staff provides service that maintains good resident experiences during meal times. Circulates in the dining room to ascertain resident preferences and satisfaction with meals. Develops service systems that balance quality and speed of meal delivery.
3. Maintains a clean dining room. This includes all equipment, walls, table tops and bases, and chairs. Ensures linens are changed as needed and tabletop condiments and salt and pepper shakers are kept clean.
4. Ensures they and any employees working with them work in a safe manner and that unsafe actions are managed. Compliant with Safety Committee Standard. Should workplace injuries occur, the Department Heads and Directors are to assist the Executive Director when required with the investigation, return to work, and management of the injured worker communication with care provider and Distinctive Living.
5. Fosters teamwork with co-workers, shows initiative in overcoming obstacles, takes actions which assist others beyond job responsibilities, and has a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors.
