Job summary

Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a friendly Server to join our Food & Beverage team. The role delivers a memorable guest experience, maintaining menu knowledge and tailoring service to guests, from greeting to check, in a full-service setting.

Starting wage is $22 per hour with merit-based increases; this is a year-round, shift-based position open days, nights, weekends and holidays from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Prior serving experience in a full-service restaurant is required.
• Prior high-end club or resort experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Present menus and suggest dishes using upselling techniques.
• Communicate customer preferences and dietary restrictions to the kitchen.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, cocktails, beer and wine.
• Deliver a high-level dining experience and personalize service to guests.
• Use name recognition and personalized service to create raving fans.
• Follow the three steps of service: warm welcome, friendly service, fond farewell.
• Answer questions about events and direct feedback to management.
• Keep service areas clean and professional.
• Support fellow team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Join the Food & Beverage team at Desert Mountain Club, one of the largest and most beautiful private country clubs in North America, as a Server!

Desert Mountain Club has moved from a gratuity-based wage structure to a higher flat-dollar wage structure for all hourly Food & Beverage positions. Our servers will start at $22 per hour or more depending on experience. This is a guaranteed year-round wage, based on hours worked, without fluctuations in pay due to business levels or seasonality. You will also have the opportunity to advance in pay and position based on merit and performance through annual merit increases and the career ladder (various levels in each position based on performance, skills, and knowledge, i.e., Server 1, Server 2, etc.).

Desert Mountain Club features seven signature golf courses (six of which are Jack Nicklaus & an all-new par 54 championship course), seven distinctive clubhouses – each with its own unique restaurant plus banquets, state-of-the-art fitness center, swim and tennis facility, and spa. Starting Rate: $22.00 per/hr or higher based on experience.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a memorable guest experience by providing exceptional service and curating the dining experience. This includes maintaining a strong knowledge and understanding of menu items and pairings and tailoring the food and beverage experience to their tastes, executing service from greeting the table to providing the check, all in a team setting.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with a great attitude and strong work ethic. Prior serving experience in a full-service restaurant is required. Prior high-end club or resort experience preferred.

The Restaurant is open for Lunch and Dinner, and shifts will vary within the hours of 9:00 am – 11:00 pm, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

JOB DETAILS

• Present menus, suggest dishes utilizing suggestive selling techniques, and assist in beverage selection and service.
• Communicate specific customer preferences, dietary restrictions, and modifications to the culinary team.
• Maintain knowledge of all food and beverage menu items to include cocktails, beer, and wine.
• Maintain a high-level dining experience with the mindset that we’re a family serving family.
• Utilize name recognition and personalized service in order to maintain raving fans.
• Practice three steps of service – warm welcome, friendly service, and fond farewell.
• Communicate and answer questions regarding restaurant and club events, mountain wide in a professional and courteous manner. Direct feedback, questions, and comments to appropriate manager or department.
• Maintain clean service areas, professional appearance of all clubhouse facilities.
• Proactively assist other team members and fellow servers, as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

• Required to be on feet for long periods of time.
