Responsibilities
- Provide professional, courteous, and timely food and beverage services to members and guests in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
- Greet guests warmly and maintain a professional demeanor at all times, focusing on guest needs while remaining calm and courteous in a fast‑paced environment.
- Thoroughly learn and follow restaurant, beach, and pool service standards and procedures.
- Set up the beach with chairs, umbrellas, and towels, ensuring guests receive clean towels.
- Prepare tables for meals, including setting linens, silverware, and glassware.
- Possess detailed knowledge of food menus, beverage menus, daily specials, promotions, garnishes, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Answer guest questions regarding menu items in an informative and helpful manner.
- Take food and beverage orders using handheld or order‑taking pads and deliver food to members and guests.
- Accurately enter orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system and verify order transmission with kitchen or bar; know coffee/tea service, beverage lists, promotions, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods.
- Set up and maintain beach and pool service stations, including chairs, umbrellas, towels, and service equipment; ensure clean towels and proper seating arrangements.
- Assist with running food and beverage orders for assigned tables and other service staff.
- Run food and drink orders for tables and other staff members; operate a golf cart to transport supplies and equipment such as chairs, tables, linens, towels, and décor for beach, poolside, or special events.
- Assist with setup, service, and breakdown for food and beverage events and private functions.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area throughout service.
Special Skills & Requirements

- Willing and able to be on feet for 8+ hours.
- Sells menu specials or limited‑time offers.
- Valid driver’s license required to operate golf carts.
- Valid Food Handler Certificate required.
- Valid Alcohol Server Certification (e.g., RBS or equivalent) required for serving alcoholic beverages.
This position operates in a private club setting. The employee is exposed to weather conditions while serving guests outdoors, crowded and noisy work areas, wet or greasy kitchen floors, and potential hazards such as cuts, slips, trips, falls, and burns. Frequent hand washing, use of stairs, and repeated walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching are required. The job may involve carrying or lifting up to 50 pounds, weighing up to 20 pounds, and pushing or pulling up to 75 pounds unassisted, with frequent overhead reaching. Strong arm strength and coordination are necessary to carry plates of food, glasses, and bottles, and service from large trays.
