Job summary

SMS InfoComm is seeking a Server Repair Tech to diagnose, test, and replace parts on servers brought in for repair. You will inspect, diagnose, and replace components while documenting all steps and outcomes in the shop tooling system.

The role requires teamwork with motherboard repair, testing, QC, and inspections teams to maintain quality standards. You will also back up QC tasks, help manage parts consumption, and support other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year repair/Depot experience preferred.
• Read/write English.
• Experience with simple component replacement (LCD/HDD).
• Familiarity with models from major vendors.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and diagnose servers.
• Replace parts as needed to restore functionality.
• Conduct server stress tests and document results.
• Record symptoms, tests, and parts replaced in shop tools.
• Collaborate with motherboard repair, testing, QC and inspections.
• Provide backup for QC and inspections and maintain parts consumption.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
