Job summary

ByteDance is seeking a skilled Server Qualification Engineer to join the Server platform team in the United States. You will architect, design, and validate high-performance server and storage systems, working with top engineers to push the boundaries of hardware validation at scale.

You’ll conduct integration and performance testing, develop robust test plans, and help optimize power and BIOS-related performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in EE/CE/CS or related field; 3+ years in server qualification.
• Familiar with server hardware, SSDs/HDDs, NICs and testing methods.
• Proficient in BMC IPMI commands, BIOS performance and power optimization.
• Experience with perf/VTune/emon for deep performance analysis.
• Able to write automated test scripts in Shell or Python.

Responsibilities

• System integration testing for server products ensuring function, software/hardware compatibility, performance and reliability.
• Develop and review test plans, cases, and reports with engineering partners.
• Support design teams by root-cause analysis and optimizing testing schemes.
• Perform benchmarking and hardware-related performance tuning and analysis.
• Research new components/technologies to enhance server competitiveness.
• Maintain automated test cases and review supplier R&D test artifacts.
