The Bushnell Performing Arts Center in Hartford, CT, operated by Oak View Group, seeks a Server to deliver professional food and beverage service during events. You will help create warm, welcoming guest experiences and collaborate with kitchen and event staff to ensure timely service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months in a fast-paced, high-volume food service environment preferred.
• High School Diploma, GED, or related food service job experience required.
• Must acquire and maintain a Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, and other required trainings.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
• Ability to communicate with guests and staff in a clear, professional manner.

Responsabilités

• Maintains knowledge of the menu and any specials.
• Provides quick, attentive, friendly, and professional service to all guests and communicates clearly with customers.
• Ensures food items are served at the proper temperature and promptly from the kitchen as ordered.
• Ensures neat presentation of all items with no spillover.
• Pre-bus and bus tables during peak periods.
• Stay available to work during many peak periods.
• Stock beverage stations (ice, juices, glassware, etc.).
• Maintain a professional and clean appearance.
• Coordinate with wait staff, bartenders, supervisors, and kitchen to ensure a great dining experience.
• Builds knowledge of bar offerings to answer guest questions accurately.

Position Summary

A Server plays a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by providing professional and efficient food and beverage service during events. Their primary function is to ensure that all guests feel welcomed and attended to, following event specifications and service standards. From the setup of the spaces to the seamless execution of meal service, they maintain an acute focus on detail and hospitality. Servers work collaboratively with kitchen and event staff to ensure the timely delivery of courses, adapt to guest needs in real time, and uphold the ambiance and quality of the event. Beyond serving, Servers contribute to the overall success of events by maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the service. They reset spaces for subsequent events and ensure that all equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately.

This role pays an hourly rate of $16.00 - $18.00 and is tip eligible.

This position will remain open until December 31, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of the menu and any special items being offered.


• Provides quick, attentive, friendly, and professional service to all guests and is able to communicate clearly with all customers.


• Ensures that food items are served at the proper temperature and immediately upon availability from the kitchen, as ordered by the customer.


• Ensures neat presentation of all ordered items, with no spill-over.


• Pre-bus tables and fully bus tables when necessary during peak periods.


• Maintains availability to work during many peak periods.


• Stock beverage station(s) when necessary (ice, juices, glassware, sugar packets, etc.).


• Maintains high responsiveness to customer desires and requests.


• Maintains a professional and clean appearance.


• Communicates with wait staff, bus persons, bartenders, supervisors, and kitchen staff to improve communication and coordination so that patrons may be impressed by their dining experience.


• Builds and maintains knowledge regarding bar offerings so that patron questions may be accurately answered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months working in a fast-paced, high-volume food service environment is preferred.


• High School Diploma, G.E.D., or related food service job experience is required.


• Must acquire and maintain a Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, and other required compliance trainings.


• Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.


• Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.
