Job summary

Presbyterian Village North is hiring Part Time Culinary Servers for its Culinary Independent and Assisted Living Departments. Schedule offers 29 hours per week or less with 4- or 8-hour shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

  • 6 months - 1 year in A la Carte & Food Service Industry experience.
  • Food Handlers card required.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
  • Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide food and beverage service in dining room.
  • Serve residents and guests in a la carte, full-service atmosphere with attention to detail and hospitality.
  • Follow opening and closing procedures including workstations.
  • Complete daily cleaning according to schedule or Supervisor’s instructions.
  • Assist with special events and reset tables to specifications.
  • Set up buffets and take food temperatures before service.

Presbyterian Village North is immediately hiring Part Time Culinary Servers in our Culinary Independent and Assisted Living Departments.

Schedule: Open flexibility - 29 hours/week or less. Open to work days, evenings and weekends. 4 hour shifts and 8 hour shifts available.

Food Handlers Certification Required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Provide food and beverage service in dining room
  • Serve residents and guests in A la Carte, full-service atmosphere with attention to detail and hospitality
  • Models a service and solutions-oriented attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better
  • Friendly and courteous to residents, patients and co-workers
  • Ensure resident/patient, visitor, self and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
  • Maintain good attendance record; arrive to work timely and conform to scheduled work hours
  • Wear appropriate and assigned protective gear, i.e. apron, hair net, mask
  • Ability to follow opening and closing procedures including workstations
  • Clean and/or pull dishes from dish room to dining area
  • Ability to rotate Busser and Food Runner responsibilities
  • Complete daily cleaning according to schedule or Supervisor’s instructions
  • Assists with any special events as assigned
  • Reset tables to specifications with clean pressed linen
  • Fold and sort silverware and napkins for dining room
  • Set-up hot buffet/salad bar/desserts/beverages/service side stations and take temperatures of food before service, clean appropriately at the end of service
  • Assumes other responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school graduate or GED
  • 6 months - 1 year in A la Carte & Food Service Industry experience required
  • Experience in customer service, is preferred
  • Food Handlers card required by your first day
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to be patient and gracious with residents
