Job summary

Presbyterian Village North is actively seeking Full Time Culinary Servers to work in the Dining Rooms of the Culinary Department. The role involves serving residents and guests in a la carte, full-service settings with a hospitality mindset.

Shifts are full-time, 8 hours per day, up to 40 hours weekly, with flexible weekdays, evenings, and weekends. This is on a large wooded campus within Forefront Living’s senior care network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year in A la Carte & Food Service Industry experience required.
• Food Handlers card is required by first day of work.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
• Experience in customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide food and beverage service in dining room in a full-service setting.
• Serve residents and guests with attention to detail and hospitality.
• Follow opening and closing procedures and maintain clean service areas.
• Maintain safety by reporting hazards and wearing protective gear as required.
• Assist with special events and resetting tables as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Provide food and beverage service in dining room
• Serve residents and guests in A la Carte, full-service atmosphere with attention to detail and hospitality
• Models a service and solutions-oriented attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better
• Friendly and courteous to residents, patients and co-workers
• Ensure resident/patient, visitor, self and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
• Maintain good attendance record; arrive to work timely and conform to scheduled work hours
• Wear appropriate and assigned protective gear, i.e. apron, hair net, mask
• Ability to follow opening and closing procedures including workstations
• Clean and/or pull dishes from dish room to dining area
• Complete daily cleaning according to schedule or Supervisor’s instructions
• Assists with any special events as assigned
• Reset tables to specifications with clean pressed linen
• Fold and sort silverware and napkins for dining room
• Set-up hot buffet/salad bar/desserts/beverages/service side stations and take temperatures of food before service, clean appropriately at the end of service
• Assumes other responsibilities as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED
• 6 months - 1 year in A la Carte & Food Service Industry experience required
• Experience in customer service, is preferred
• Food Handlers card is required by first day of work
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
• Ability to be patient and gracious with residents
