Job summary

Golden Lodge Assisted Living is seeking a Culinary Aide to support resident-focused dining. You will assist in food preparation and delivery, serve meals at mealtimes, and help maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen in accordance with policy.

The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and safety, with responsibilities ranging from stocking deliveries to ensuring a pleasant dining experience for residents and families.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Food Handlers Permit required by state regulations.
  • 1–3 years of related work experience preferred.
  • Formerly trained in culinary arts preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in food preparation and delivery.

Job description

The Culinary Aide is a part of the Cornerstone team, a resident-focused, high performance, high commitment work team that supports the motto of, “creating healthy living and work environments.” As a Culinary Aide, they are responsible for ensuring that quality services are a way of life for this community where every associate’s interaction with residents and family members reflects the philosophy of Cornerstone Management Services. A Culinary Aide is responsible for creating high quality meals and dining experiences for residents by preparing and serving attractive, nutritious, and palatable meals consistent with regulations and established policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists in food preparation and delivery.
  • Serves meals to residents at mealtimes.
  • Assists with food preparation.
  • Sets table with appropriate utensils, glasses, condiments, etc.
  • Provides a comfortable dining experience and exceptional friendly service for residents.
  • Prioritizes tasks and completes assignments within allotted time.
  • Maintains a positive image and adheres to all company policies.
  • Presents a professional image by wearing approved attire and following the grooming guidelines.
  • Maintains clean and sanitized kitchen and supplies.
  • Washes dishes and maintains organization in the kitchen and supply areas.
  • Monitors the dining and kitchen area for cleanliness and safety.
  • Always follows food safe and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Assists with stocking deliveries.
  • Maintains supplies and appliances.
  • Communicates as needed supplies that need to be re-stocked.
  • Communicates need for appliance repairs.
  • Demonstrates precautionary work practices for the safety of others in the work areas; such as electric cords; wet floors; etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Abilities:
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Must maintain confidentiality regarding resident information.
  • Ability to relate professionally & work cooperatively with residents & staff at all levels
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to reach overhead, squat, kneel, and perform repetitive actions.
  • Ability to lift 20 to 50 pounds of force semi-frequently.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Obtain Food Handlers Permit (as required by state regulations)
Education and Experience Preferences:
  • One to three years of related work experience.
  • Formerly trained in culinary arts.
