Job summary

Delta Hotels is seeking a Food Runner/Bar Back to enhance guest experiences in Café Azul, AZ Brew, or room service. You will support bartenders, maintain stock, and ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional service at the café/bar during events and catered functions.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, taking orders, balancing cash, and staying informed on menus, with a focus on accuracy, cleanliness, and safety in all beverage and dining areas.

Qualifications

• Previous server, barista & bartending experience a plus.
• Food Handlers Certificate.
• Meet state law age requirements for working behind a bar.
• High School or GED required.
• Shifts include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, take orders and use excellent time management to prepare and serve drinks.
• Address and resolve customer issues in a polite and effective manner; involve manager or shift supervisor as necessary.
• Timing the service of courses to match the dining pace of guests.
• Replenish beverages when necessary and check with guests to ensure satisfaction.
• Carry out cash handling by balancing the cash register and following hotel procedures.
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations and maintain bar cleanliness and safety.
• Assist with stocking and inventory control; notify management when supplies are low.
• Understand operation of the POS system and have full knowledge of menus.
• Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment, surfaces, and proper trash disposal.
• Maintain a professional uniform and Delta pin; Starbucks beverages training will be provided.

Description

The dual functionality of this position is to interact with the hotel guests and ensure they have great experience while dining with us or being seated at the bar. As a Food Runner you will tend to the guests as they dine in Café Azul, AZ Brew or in their rooms. As the bar back support, you will support the bartender/barista by maintaining stock, cleaning the bar area, and ensuring smooth operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Al the while providing exceptional service to guests at the café/bar, during events or catered functions. (As well as any other property hosted event as requested and scheduled). Other duties include help taking orders and providing timely service to customers, as well as a room service delivery component.

• Handle an assigned house bank and follow all cash handling procedures as per hotel standard.
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations.

• Carry out tasks with attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety.
• Understand the operation of the POS system.
• Have full knowledge and understanding of the menus.
• Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment, wiping surfaces, sweep & mop as needed and empty trash.
• Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift.
• We proudly serve Starbucks hot and cold beverages. Starbucks training will be provided.

Work environment

• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Hotels operate 24/7 therefore schedules may at times fluctuate based on the needs of the business.
• Standing, walking, bending, stretching, twisting, or lifting as much as 25lbs. throughout your scheduled shift and at times as much as 45lbs. or more (tables, kegs, chairs).
• Always in uniform and well-groomed with name badge and required Delta pin.
