Job Title:

Kitchens Server/Food Handler

Locations:

Opportunities available in Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan at our Homeless Shelters and City Beet Kitchens

Salary:

$18.37 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Serve three meals daily for 50-200 residents, including snacks, with attention to dietary restrictions.
2. Work shifts of 3 hours, with flexibility to work 1-3 shifts daily for Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner.
3. Maintain food temperature standards, keeping hot food hot and cold food cold.
4. Supervise meal service.
5. Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
6. Assist in storage, control, and management of stock according to regulations.
7. Ensure sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces and storage containers.
8. Support daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of kitchen, equipment, and food service areas.

Qualifications:

1. Must possess a valid NYC Food Handler’s Certificate.
2. Ability to work at least one weekend day.

All newly hired Project Renewal staff must provide verification of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
