The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a SME Server Engineer for the Global Mission Operations Support (GMOS) contract, supporting the Department of State. Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and management leadership for data center management services including server platforms across the global enterprise
- Direct Server Installation Support Services including non-routine emergency services across worldwide Consular facilities, ensuring rapid response and resolution
- Establish design strategy for physical and virtual hosting environments supporting CA IT systems across 350+ global facilities, ensuring scalability and high availability
- Establish enterprise engineering standards for Windows and UNIX/Linux server platforms, both physical and virtual, ensuring consistency and compliance
- Direct operating system configuration and security fixes, software application installations and upgrades, and Oracle database changes across the enterprise
- Establish Hardware Configuration Management (HCM) strategy for all designated DT/EA/CST configurable items, maintaining operational readiness and security compliance
- Establish site survey strategy delivering comprehensive recommendations for facility renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and optimal physical placement of server equipment
- Establish and maintain comprehensive server refresh plan for all worldwide Consular facilities, coordinating with Post/Consular Facility POCs to minimize operational disruptions
- Excel in DevSecOps tooling (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, SonarQube) and design and construct advanced CI/CD pipelines with extensive experience automating continuous build, test, security validation, results collection, and success/failure analysis
- Provide technical and management leadership on major assignments, establishing strategic goals and plans that meet project objectives while directing activities with overall responsibility for financial management, methodology selection, and staffing decisions
Qualifications:
Required -
- Bachelor's degree + 13 years of experience in related fields, such as server engineering, systems administration, infrastructure architecture, virtualization, or data center operations leadership; equivalencies considered.
- Active Secret Clearance
- Proven experience providing strategic leadership for enterprise server engineering across large-scale, geographically distributed federal environments
- Demonstrated expertise in Windows Server and UNIX/Linux platforms, virtualization technologies, and Hardware Configuration Management (HCM) strategies
- Strong proficiency with DevSecOps tools and advanced CI/CD pipeline architecture, particularly with Ansible, Terraform, and enterprise automation frameworks
- Excellent leadership abilities with proven experience directing technical teams, managing program budgets, and making strategic staffing and resource allocation decisions
Desired -
- Prior experience supporting federal agencies, especially the Department of State
- Professional certifications such as VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA), or Oracle Certified Master
- Experience with enterprise server refresh planning, worldwide infrastructure deployments, and coordination with 300+ global facilities
- Knowledge of data center design best practices, capacity planning strategies, and experience supporting diplomatic missions with mission-critical server infrastructure
