KellyMitchell is seeking a Server Engineer II to join the Industrial IT infrastructure team in Spring, TX. The role focuses on enterprise Windows Server environments, virtualization, and modernization projects across global operations.

You will work with cybersecurity and engineering teams, handling server deployments, upgrades, domain segmentation, and critical infrastructure support within a 40-hour weekly onsite schedule.

Job Summary

Our client, a leading global energy company, is seeking a Server Engineer II to join their Industrial IT infrastructure team. The selected candidate will support enterprise Windows Server environments and contribute to a major five-year infrastructure modernization initiative involving server deployments, virtualization, infrastructure upgrades, and domain segmentation across global operations. This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale engineering projects while supporting critical infrastructure and collaborating with cybersecurity and technical teams.

Contract Details

Location: Spring, TX

Contract Duration: November 10, 2026 - November 10, 2027, with potential for extension

Core Responsibilities

• Build, configure, maintain, patch, and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux virtual machine environments
• Administer VMware virtualization infrastructure, including virtual machine configurations, performance optimization, and troubleshooting
• Support infrastructure modernization projects, including server deployments, upgrades, migrations, and domain segmentation
• Administer Active Directory services, including Group Policy, DNS, user/group management, and access controls
• Troubleshoot Dell server hardware and support remote infrastructure environments
• Monitor server performance, investigate system alerts, and support infrastructure availability and reliability
• Collaborate with cybersecurity partners and engineering teams while maintaining technical documentation and participating in planned project work

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• 3+ years of relevant hands‑on Windows Server administration and infrastructure engineering experience
• Strong experience with Active Directory administration, Group Policy, DNS, and Windows domain environments
• Hands‑on experience administering and troubleshooting VMware virtualization environments
• Experience with Windows Server builds, patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, and infrastructure maintenance
• Experience supporting server deployments, migrations, or infrastructure modernization projects
• Basic proficiency with PowerShell or comparable scripting tools for administrative automation
• Strong technical documentation, troubleshooting, and cross‑functional communication skills

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)

• Experience with VMware 7.0, vSphere, ESXi, or vCenter
• Hands‑on experience with Nutanix virtualization and infrastructure deployments
• Familiarity with Linux server administration and troubleshooting
• Experience supporting Dell enterprise server hardware
• Familiarity with SolarWinds or comparable infrastructure monitoring platforms
• Knowledge of ICSRv4 standards, air‑gapped environments, or industrial IT infrastructure
• Experience with ServiceNow, Agile methodologies, or infrastructure project delivery

Work Environment

Location: Spring, TX

Work Model: 100% onsite

Schedule: 40 hours per week, including rotating on‑call responsibilities

On‑Call: Seven‑day rotations with 12‑hour daytime coverage, beginning after approximately 8-12 weeks of onboarding

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $53.00 and $77.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
