Job summary

City Beet Kitchens in New York, NY is seeking a part-time Server/Food Handler to support meal service for residents in our facilities. Shifts are 3 hours each, with 1–3 shifts daily covering Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner.

You will supervise meal service, maintain hot/cold food safety, and assist with stock, sanitation, and routine kitchen cleaning. Requires NYC Food Handler’s Certificate and the ability to work at least one weekend day as part of the schedule.

Responsibilities

Salary: $20.0 79 / hour

Depending on the shift, essential duties of the Server/Food Handler include but are not limited to the following activities:

• Serving three meals daily for 50-200 residents as well as snacks, with particular attention to the needs of residents with dietary restrictions
• Shifts are 3 hours each and there is flexibility in working 1-3 shifts daily for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner
• Keeping hot food hot and cold food cold. No exceptions.
• Responsible for supervising the serving of meals
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
• Assist in the storage, control, and management of all stock, according to regulations and administrative procedures
• Ensure the proper sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces and storage containers
• Support with all aspects of daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of the kitchen, equipment, and other food service areas
