Job summary

Covestic Inc. is seeking a Site Operations Technician to join our team in Ashburn, VA. You will work with Operations Leads to support installs, troubleshoot, and maintain servers, networking equipment, and cabling while expanding basic knowledge of IT systems.

You will perform first-level triage, support debugging, and ensure IT service health and capacity. The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and the ability to lift and move heavy equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience with Linux system administration and network administration.
• Basic understanding of PC and server hardware.
• Proficiency with the Linux command line and common UNIX tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level triage and support debugging of IT hardware issues.
• Support installs, troubleshooting, and maintenance of servers and networking equipment.
• Maintain and manage IT server repair queue and execute repairs.
• Supervise custom builds and reworks of servers and racks.
• Validate repair documentation for IT hardware configurations.
• Assist on-site vendor visits with internal tools and escort duties.
• Communicate professionally via email, tasks, and meetings.

Job description

As a Site Operations Technician, you will be working alongside Operations Leads in supporting installs, troubleshooting, and maintaining servers, networking equipment, and cabling. Expansion of basic knowledge and experience working with computers and related knowledge is expected.

How You Will Make an Impact

• In-depth usage of command-line tools and techniques, both Linux and client-specific.
• Provide first-level triage and support debugging of issues discovered on IT hardware
• Professional communication in emails, tasks, and meetings
• High and low-level task management, working with partner teams to support IT service health and capacity
• Maintain the IT server repair queue and execute repairs on servers and related hardware
• Supervise and execute custom builds and reworks of servers and racks
• Validate repair documentation for IT hardware and configurations
• Support on-site vendor visits by escorting and assistance with internal tools
• Other tasks as required to support IT service on a local basis

What You Will Need to Succeed

• Minimum 1 years of experience with Linux system administration, network administration
• Basic understanding of PC / server hardware
• Proficiency in the Linux command line with common UNIX tools
