Job summary

Home Run Inn in Darien, IL is seeking a friendly Server/Bartender to create engaging guest experiences in a fast-paced setting. You will take orders, mix drinks, and promote menu items while delivering excellent service that makes guests feel at home.

Must be 21+ to pour alcohol; previous serving/bartending experience preferred. Great teamwork and a positive attitude are essential for success and growth within our family-owned restaurant.

Pay: $12.96hr + tips = $17.05hr+

Whether you’re taking an order, mixing a drink, recommending a favorite pizza, or making someone’s night a little better, you’ll play an important role in making every visit feel like home.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll help create the kind of experience that keeps our guests coming back.

Take Care of Our Guests

• Welcome guests and create a friendly, positive dining experience.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and deliver them in a timely manner.
• Present menus, answer questions, and make recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Actively suggest menu items, specials, and upcoming Home Run Inn events.
• Serve food and beverages while making sure guests have everything they need.
• Check in with guests throughout their visit and respond to requests with a helpful attitude.

Bring Your Bartending Skills

• Mix, prepare, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages using standard recipes.
• Practice responsible alcohol service and follow all age-verification requirements.
• Monitor beverage equipment and systems and communicate any issues.
• Monitor bar inventory and communicate stocking needs.
• Keep the bar and beverage station clean, organized, and ready for service.

Be a Team Player

• Communicate orders clearly with the kitchen and service team.
• Assist with pre-bussing tables and maintaining clean guest areas.
• Help with buffet setup and takedown when needed.
• Complete opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities.
• Jump in wherever needed to support your teammates and keep service moving.
• Follow all safety and food handling requirements.

What You’ll Bring

• Must be 21 years of age or older to pour and serve alcohol.
• Previous serving and/or bartending experience preferred.
• Strong communication, customer service, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift, reach, bend, and stoop.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Working knowledge of the predominant language of our guests.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to obtain Food Handler certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain BASSET certification within 30 days of hire.
• Safety shoes required within 30 days of hire.
