Job summary

Home Run Inn is hiring a Pizza Maker / Food Prep to join our Back of House team in Hillside. You’ll prepare ingredients, build and cook pizzas to our standards, and help prep other menu items so the kitchen delivers great food quickly and consistently.

Requirements include being at least 16, Food Handler certification within 30 days, and readiness to work nights, weekends, and holidays. A safety-focused, team-driven attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old to operate kitchen equipment.
• Food Handler certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Safety shoes required within 30 days of hire.
• Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and stock for pizza and food prep.
• Read order tickets and select ingredients accordingly.
• Stretch and prepare pizza crusts using proper dough-handling techniques.
• Measure and apply ingredients per recipes and portioning standards.
• Cook pizzas in the oven and monitor cooking process.
• Remove pizzas from oven and slice for service.
• Follow SOPs for pizza prep, including weights and safe handling.
• Work from verbal and written orders.
• Prepare ingredients and menu items for service.
• Assist other cooks with food prep and keep pace.
• Prepare food quickly to meet prep-time goals.
• Read tickets to determine amounts needed.
• Fill serving cartons with appropriate portions.
• Operate fryers, ovens, and kitchen equipment safely.
• Monitor food quality and spoilage.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Refill and rotate stock; FIFO method.
• Assist with inventory counts and ordering.
• Clean ovens, tables, and equipment regularly.
