Boka Restaurant Group and the Chicago Athletic Association are currently seeking a Server Assistant to join their team at Cindy's! Please note, this position requires open availability, with Sundays and Mondays as required days of work.
The Server Assistant acts as an assistant to the Server during service, performing tasks such as serving water to guests, refilling glasses as needed, clearing, cleaning, resetting, and maintaining tables.

Specific Tasks:
- Obtain service area assignments at the beginning of each shift.
- Maintain constant communication with Server in your assigned section, keeping tabs on where each of your tables are in their meal.
- Promptly greet guests as they are seated and offer bottled or still water when applicable.
- Refill water when needed.
- Perform serving, cleaning, or stocking duties to facilitate customer service.
- Inform Server of any questions or needs the guests may have.
- Set tables with clean glassware and tableware to the restaurant's standard.
- Clear tables after guests leave, wipe tables and seats with the appropriate tools, and always use a tray when clearing an empty table.
- Remove empty serving dishes, used silverware, and plateware between courses, and provide clean tableware for the next course.
- Notify management of dishes that are not eaten.
- Remove empty glassware when needed, always using a tray.
- Maintain overall cleanliness of tables while guests are dining.
- Scrape and stack dirty dishes in the dish station according to standards to reduce breakage.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dish and staging areas.
- Stock service stations and kitchen with clean glassware and plateware during service.
- Assist with cleaning spills or broken glass.
- Make and serve coffee drinks ordered by the server when requested.
- Maintain adequate supplies in service stations.
- Assist with polishing when needed.
- Complete daily opening & closing side work as assigned.
- Attend all scheduled meetings and suggest improvements.
- Fill in when needed to ensure guest service standards.
- Take guests’ allergies seriously and follow allergy protocols.
- Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance, as we operate 7 days a week.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and move up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds often, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Use all necessary tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Stand and walk for entire shifts, including navigating stairs and uneven surfaces.
