Job summary

Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco at Embarcadero seeks a Server Assistant/Bus Person to join our luxury hospitality team. You will greet guests, assist servers, and help ensure smooth service on our busy dining floor.

We value flexible schedules, fluent English, and at least 6 months of food service experience. Candidates must be legally permitted to work in the United States and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Competitive benefits include health coverage and staff meals.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a professional manner and assist servers with service.
• Assist restaurant servers and guests by retrieving food and safely transporting it to the table.
• Answer questions regarding menu and specials when a server is unavailable.
• Communicate clearly with servers and management about service and requests.
• Move tables and chairs as needed to maintain service flow.
• Adhere to Four Seasons standards and learn the Sequence of Service.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Greet guests in a professional manner, serve beverages and food items while explaining the contents, and anticipate the guest’s needs
• Assist Restaurant Servers and guests with all aspects of service including retrieving food from the kitchen using a tray and safely transporting it to guest, as well as removal of items from the guest’s table.
• Answer questions regarding menu and other offering, including specials, in the immediate absence of a server
• Clearly communicate with servers, other restaurant employees and supervisors/management regarding regular service, special requests, service issues, and any other important information.
• Move tables and chairs throughout the restaurant as needed.
• The ability to perform this position to Four Seasons Standards and learn the Sequence of Service is required.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Fluent English
• At least 6 months of food service experience, preferably in a luxury hotel, resort, or in fast-paced high-end restaurant.
• Ability to push, pull or lift up to 50lbs.
• Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in the United States
