Job summary

AJ’s Steakhouse in Iowa is seeking staff for a 3pm-10pm shift. Responsibilities include assisting servers, delivering food, and maintaining a clean dining area. Training is provided, and candidates must be able to stand for an eight-hour shift, lift up to 50 lbs, and work weekends/holidays.

Pay starts at $9.65/hour with tips ranging up to $18.00-$20.00 including tips. Experience in a full-service restaurant is preferred and a strong focus on customer service is required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting servers and delivering food in assigned section(s).
• Maintaining a clean work station and dining area.
• Clearing dining tables and ensuring dishes are taken to dish washing area of the kitchen.
• Ensuring quality with proper presentation and accuracy of food orders.
• Table maintenance to include water refills, removal & replacement of plate ware, silverware and glassware as guest completes each dish.

Ability to work in an upscale, fast-paced environment, and work well in a team atmosphere, under pressure. Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and flat ware. Ability to know all menu items & ingredients as well as proper presentation. Understanding of health and safety rules in a restaurant. Knowledge about plating & presentation. Strong organization, attention to detail & multi-tasking skills. Ability to stand and walk for an eight-hour shift. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push a cart up to 150 lbs. is required. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and varied hours. Must be 16 years of age or older.
