Job Summary
Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Responsibilities
- Perform necessary preparations in the assigned area prior to opening the dining room such as setting tables with cloths, silverware, glasses, condiments, napkins, and decorations.
- Prepare/maintain server station with supplies such as butter, ice, coffee, fruits, juices, salads, and breads.
- Familiarity with the menu for the day, offering suggestions if requested, recording desired selections from guests and turning in orders for preparation to the kitchen.
- Serve guests and manage their experience throughout their visit.
- Clear, clean and re-setup tables throughout the shift.
- Complete assigned opening and closing shift work (e.g., vacuum, mop, etc.).
- Work events to include setup and breakdown, as assigned.
- Provide world class customer service (as defined by MCCS) with an emphasis on courtesy.
- Assist guests, communicate positively in a friendly manner, acknowledge and assist guests, smile and make eye contact.
- Engage guests to ensure an excellent experience.
- Adhere to established service standards, check for satisfaction on quality of goods and services, take action to solve problems quickly, and alert lead server for help when problems arise.
- Responsible for teamwork.
- Adhere to safety regulations and standards; use required safety equipment and observe safe work procedures.
- Promptly report any observed workplace hazards, injuries, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
- Actively support principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Must meet minimum age requirement.
Qualifications
- Skill to serve beverages and meals in the proper manner and sequence.
- Knowledge of proper food handling techniques.
- Knowledge of composition of all food items on the menu.
- Skill in proper table setting techniques.
- Knowledge of simple math calculations to tabulate checks.
- Ability to recognize intoxicated patrons when serving alcohol.
- Assigned stations by supervisor and given any special instructions.
- Held responsible for complying with standard methods and procedures such as conduct, etiquette, dress code, serving techniques, and complete familiarity with the menu and day-to-day changes.
Physical Effort and Working Conditions
- Work requires the use of both arms, hands, and legs, and involves prolonged standing, walking, reaching, and frequent lifting.
- Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs. independently and objects over 45 lbs. with assistance.
- Works inside with adequate lighting, heat and ventilation and on occasion outside in various temperatures/climates.
- Works nights and weekends.
