Job summary

Sun Valley Resort seeks enthusiastic Servers to provide guests with attentive food and beverage service in a friendly, professional manner.

You will greet guests, take orders, coordinate with the kitchen, handle payments, maintain station cleanliness, and flex hours including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Preferred 2 years of serving experience in a similar resort setting.
• Previous cash handling experience is required.
• Be TIPs certified for alcohol service or obtain a TIPs certification within 30 days of hire.
• Developed knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails with experience selling and presenting wines.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and nights.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to deal with people in a team-based, service-oriented environment and to perform duties in a manner that is strictly consistent with governmental and/or company standards.
• Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
• Have the ability to perform the same work repeatedly.
• Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching.
• Able to safely move objects up to approximately 50 pounds about the workplace.
• Must be 18 years or older

Responsibilities

• Follow and comply with all Sun Valley Food & Beverage rules of conduct, policies, and procedures.
• Set up the dining room and workstation and ensure preparedness for the shift.
• Greet the guests in a friendly and professional manner consistent with the Sun Valley experience.
• Solicit the guest’s food and beverage order, making suggestions and explaining choices as necessary.
• Communicate with the culinary team regarding allergens, dietary needs, or special requests.
• Properly submit orders through the point-of-sale system.
• Deliver prepared food and beverages to the table, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Prepare and present the accurate check, perform necessary cashier services to process the payment, and adhere to cash handling standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and neatness of work areas and the guests’ tables during and after the meal.
• Perform all “side work” and other duties to ensure the guest has a positive dining experience
