The Server shapes those moments by welcoming every table with food and beverage service that feels attentive, personal, and genuine.

This position is responsible for taking and delivering food and beverage orders, guiding guests through the menu, serving alcoholic beverages responsibly in accordance with Arizona liquor laws, processing guest payments accurately, and keeping the dining room, lounge, and service stations clean, stocked, and welcoming. Servers may be scheduled in either outlet and work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to keep service seamless during busy shifts, events, and peak season.

This is a part-time position with AM and PM shifts available. Schedules follow business levels and include weekends and holidays.

As a member of the Lodging Dynamics team, this role reflects what it means to be Driven By Culture: we lead with heart, serve with the spirit of hospitality, and strive for excellence in every guest interaction.

Essential Job Functions
  • Welcome guests in a warm, genuine, and attentive manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere from arrival to departure.
  • Share knowledgeable recommendations about the menu, cocktails, and daily features, and answer guest questions about ingredients and preparation.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders, enter them into the point-of-sale (POS) system, and deliver orders promptly in accordance with established steps of service.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly in compliance with Arizona liquor laws (Title 4) and hotel policy, including verifying identification, monitoring guest consumption, and declining service when appropriate.
  • Accurately communicate allergy and dietary requests to the kitchen and bar.
  • Check food and beverages before serving to confirm that presentation, temperature, and portions meet standards.
  • Check back with guests throughout the meal, anticipate needs such as refills and additional courses, and clear and reset tables promptly.
  • Process guest payments, room charges, and cash transactions accurately, and follow established procedures for cash handling, tip reporting, and end-of-shift closeout.
  • Complete opening, running, and closing side work as assigned, including setting tables, polishing glassware and silverware, restocking service stations, and maintaining condiments and service items.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dining room, lounge, and service areas, and promptly report spills, broken items, or safety hazards.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, storage, and temperature control of food and beverages.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and concerns, resolve routine issues within the scope of the position, and escalating safety concerns, intoxicated guests, or unresolved matters to a Supervisor or Manager.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the kitchen, bar, hosts, Front Desk, and other hotel teams to support guest needs and smooth service.
  • Support private events, group functions, and other outlets as scheduled.
  • Follow hotel heat safety practices during outdoor and rooftop shifts, including hydration, shade, and rest breaks, and help teammates recognize and report signs of heat-related illness.
  • Follow all company policies, brand standards, safety procedures, and required operational guidelines, and complete all assigned training and compliance requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We Look For

At Canopy, three values guide how we show up for our guests and for each other:

  • Own the Details. You notice what makes the difference, such as a refilled glass, a remembered allergy, or a guest celebrating something special, and you take pride in getting it right.
  • Make the Moment Count. Every meal is a chance to elevate the ordinary. Your energy shapes how guests feel, whether they are here for a quick breakfast or a night out with friends.
  • Show Up for Each Other. You stay engaged, listen, and jump in to help your teammates, because guests can feel it when a team works well together.

  • Working knowledge of food and beverage service, or a willingness to learn menu items, wine, beer, cocktails, and service standards.
