Job summary

Encore Village of Schaumburg is hiring part-time Servers to interact with residents/guests in Independent Living. The Server will provide friendly, efficient service, be attentive to residents' needs, and help make them feel welcome, comfortable, and relaxed.

Responsibilities include taking orders, setting and bussing tables, ensuring sanitation and safety protocols, greeting guests, and participating in training programs to uphold quality service for our community.

Job description

Encore Village of Schaumburg is currently hiring for part time Servers. This position will interact with our residents/guests in Independent Living. The Server will be responsible for positive resident/guest interactions while serving residents/guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, Servers are expected to be attentive to our residents/guests' needs and making them welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed.

Responsibilities

• Performing a variety of services in the Dining Room including waiting on assigned tables, taking orders, setting and busing tables.
• Assuring that all shift duties are thoroughly completed before the close of each shift.
• Set up and clean up of special functions.
• Understanding - before each meal period - every menu item and special, well enough to answer diners' questions.
• Properly greeting all residents and guests.
• Adherence to all sanitation and food handling protocols.
• Adherence to all safety policies and procedures of Encore Village and regulatory authorities.
• Maintenance of confidentiality of all pertinent resident information to assure residents' rights and employee confidentiality are protected.
• Proper personal appearance and hygiene according to established procdures.
• Attendance and participation in in-service training programs.
• Reporting of all hazardous conditions or equipment.
• Preparation of routine set-up of dining room for next day and/or special holidays.
• Maintain quality level of service.
• Good communication skills; must be able to demonstrate effective reading, writing and speaking.

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
