Job description

The Server is responsible for ensuring positive and pleasant dining experiences for residents, family, friends of residents, employees, third‑party individuals and any other individual wanting to dine with El Castillo. Overall responsibilities include but are not limited to guest service, menu knowledge, order taking & delivery, dining room management, collaboration, resident engagement, problem resolution, compliance, safety and assistance.

Essential Functions

• Provides friendly, yet professional, attentive and personalized service, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience.
• Maintains a thorough understanding of the menu offerings, including daily specials, dietary restrictions, and wine pairings to provide informed recommendations.
• Takes food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, delivering them in a timely manner, ensuring all orders meet the established standards.
• Sets up and maintains the dining area, ensuring cleanliness and organization, including table settings and proper arrangement of dining supplies.
• Works closely and professionally with kitchen employees and other team members to ensure smooth service and timely communication regarding menu items and special requests.
• Builds rapport with residents, actively engaging with them to enhance their dining experience and address any special needs or requests.
• Addresses any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring resident satisfaction.
• Adheres to all health and safety regulations, as well as community policies and procedures, to maintain a safe and sanitary dining environment.
• Provides assistance to residents as needed, including help with menu selections and dining accommodations to enhance their comfort and enjoyment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Current ServSafe Certification.

Preferred

• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.
• Previous experience as a server in an upscale restaurant environment is preferred.

Works in front of house/dining area as well as in and near kitchen area, tight/narrow spaces including exits and entrances, various levels of noise from dining area, kitchen and surrounding areas.

Physical Demands

This is a very active position that requires sustained physical energy with a lot of mobility. This position requires prolonged standing, moving, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, lifting, twisting, and reaching.

Ability to lift and carry items 20–35 lbs.

Precise hand‑eye coordination for handling hot plates, delicate glassware, and utilizing systems for entering tickets.
