Job summary

The Wild Thyme Company in San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced Server to deliver top‑quality service at special events. You will perform food and drink serving duties, interact with guests in a friendly and efficient manner, and support the captain and event leads.

You will arrive on time, help unload and set up, monitor and replenish stations, pour wine at plated dinners, bus tables, and communicate guest needs to the team while upholding company standards.

Responsibilities

• Arrive to work on time.
• Unload truck and load-in to venue for set-up.
• Perform setup, monitor, serve, replenish, and breakdown of various stations for specified functions.
• Set up room as instructed by event Lead or Captain to include linen, service ware and glassware.
• Attend pre-shift huddle meeting before event to learn function particulars.
• Prepare and serve meal accompaniments to guests.
• Wine pouring during service for plated dinner.
• Bussing.
• Communicate guest needs to Event Lead/Captain/Event Manager/Respective Sales Rep.
• Maintain knowledge of company policies and equipment.
• Anticipate guests’ needs and maintain guest relations.
• Respond to guest inquiries accurately and professionally.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Practice clean as you go.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Breakdown all F&B stations and load/unload equipment as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Wild Thyme Company's experienced Server will display the highest quality of customer service and perform food and drink serving duties at special events while interacting with g uests in a positive, friendly and efficient manner. The goal is to enhance customer satisfaction so that we can maintain and expand our clientele. The Server will report directly to the Captain and Event Leads. It is important that you understand the expectation set by The Wild Thyme Company’s Mission Statement, “The Wild Thyme Way”, Core Values “Passion for Food, Passion for Service” and “Words We Live By”.

You are to ensure that the following goals are met:

1. Arrive to work on time.
2. Unload truck and load-in to venue for set-up.
3. Perform set up, monitor, serve,replenish, and breakdown of various stations (i.e., Action, Hor D’oeuvres,Coffee, Buffet Stations, Beverage, and Scullery) for specified functions according to event requirements.
4. Set up room as instructed by event Lead or Captain to include linen, service ‐ ware and glassware.
5. Attend pre-shift huddle meeting before event to learn function particulars, including guest expectations and service.
6. Prepare and serve meal accompaniments to guests.
7. Wine pouring during service for plated dinner.
8. Bussing.
9. Communicate any areas of needs, issues, and concerns from guests to Event Lead/Captain/Event Manager/Respective Sales Rep.
10. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with company policies/service procedures/standards.
11. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
12. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy.
13. Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
14. Be familiar with food menu and available venue facilities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
15. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
16. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas/stations.
17. Practice “Clean as you go” policies.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
