Job summary

Palisades Tahoe is hiring for seasonal dining positions at multiple venues. You will greet guests, present menus, explain preparation methods, and ensure high-quality service. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with top quality customer service in a friendly and positive manner.
• Present menus, explain prep methods and ingredients.
• Inform customers of daily specials.
• Check patrons’ identification to verify age for alcohol.
• Open and pour wine tableside.
• Take orders using POS and coordinate with kitchen on specials or unavailable items.
• Ensure guests are enjoying their meals and address issues.
• Prepare itemized checks including tax.
• Clear tables and reset dining areas.
• Assist food runners and restock supplies.
• Sweep floors and maintain cleanliness.
• Support kitchen staff as needed.

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Job Details:

• Seasonal, full-time and part-time positions available at multiple venues at Palisades Tahoe

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

• Provide customers with top quality customer service in a friendly and positive manner.
• Present menus, explain how various menu items are prepared, and describe ingredients and cooking methods.
• Inform customers of daily specials.
• Check patrons’ identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
• Properly open and pour wine at tableside
• Place order using POS system. Communicate with kitchen of special needs or if a menu item is not available
• Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
• Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
• Clear tables, deposit plates and utensils in bus tubs, dispose trash and wipe tables clean
• Assist food runners as needed. Carry food orders from kitchen to customers, fill drink orders, fill customer requests
• Restock condiments, utensils, napkins, cups and other items as needed
• Sweep floor, pick up trash
• Assist kitchen staff as needed.

• Knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu, restaurant and Palisades Tahoe or be able to locate information.

Education and Experience:

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two years serving experience
• Must have or be able to obtain a California Food Handlers card.
