Job summary

The h.wood Group is seeking experienced Servers for Lady Delilah in New York City. The Server will deliver exceptional, knowledgeable service in a high-volume, fine dining environment, creating memorable experiences for guests.

Ideal candidates have NY Certified Food Handlers Card, open availability, and a passion for hospitality. You must be 21+ and authorized to work in the United States; prior fast-paced restaurant experience preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Guide guests through all phases of their dining experience.
  • Inform guests of specials, changes, and menu items.
  • Take orders and upsell specific items when appropriate.
  • Maintain table maintenance and coordinate with service staff.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the work area.
  • Communicate customer needs to management and staff.
  • Attend pre-shift briefings and perform opening/closing duties.

ROLE SUMMARY:

Opening this Fall, Lady Delilah is currently hiring experienced and talented Servers. The Server is a key role in the success of the restaurant. They are responsible for providing exceptional, knowledgeable, efficient service to guests, making their dining experience memorable and personal. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a high-volume, fine dining environment. We ask for a willingness to receive and offer direction, be solutions oriented, and encourage a hospitality driven environment. Open availability is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Guide guests through all phases of their experience at the restaurant.
  • Clearly and proficiently inform customers of Chef’s specials, menu changes and additions, and answer any questions.
  • Take food and beverage orders, suggestively selling specific menu items.
  • Oversee table maintenance and coordinate table service with fellow team members.
  • Work alongside bussers to clear and reset tables and maintain service stations stocked with silverware, glassware, share plates, condiments, sugar, coffee, tea, etc.
  • Respond to guests’ needs with a proactive approach.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory and proper condition of equipment and operating supplies.
  • Communicate with management, and all other service staff regarding all customer needs, comments, or incidents.
  • Follow all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, and Health Department.
  • Attend daily pre-shift meetings to review what is expected of service before the shift starts.
  • Performs all opening and closing duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have a NY Certified Food Handlers Card
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Basic understanding of beer, wine, and spirits is preferred.
  • Must have excellent time management skills.
  • Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be reliable, responsible, and trustworthy.
  • Must have high energy, great communication skills, and be able to work as part of a team.
  • Must be able to stand during entire shift, often up to 8 hours with frequent bending, squatting, and lifting plates, boxes, and objects up to 30lbs.
  • Must have attention to detail and willingness to deliver exceptional customer service.
