Job summary

Forefront in partnership with Redstone Presbyterian Senior Care is seeking a dining services helper to support a clean, safe, and comfortable dining environment in a healthcare setting.

You will set up dining areas, assist with meal preparation, and deliver meals to residents while adhering to dietary restrictions and safety guidelines. This hourly role requires flexibility for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays and offers comprehensive benefits for full-time staff.

Responsibilities

• Set up dining area and trays for meal services.
• Assist cook/supervisor with food preparation and service following procedures.
• Deliver residents’ meal carts and set/clean dining areas.
• Record refrigerator temperatures and stock as needed.
• Wash and store dishes; maintain sanitation of the kitchen.
• Follow Federal, State, and Community rules, policies and procedures.
• Act in conformance with facility policies including HIPAA and ethics.
• Attend department meetings as required.
• Demonstrate accountability for personal/professional growth and required certifications/licenses.
• Complete mandatory training and competencies annually.

You will be responsible for setting up the dining area and trays for meal services, adhering to food safety guidelines, and following dietary restrictions based on residents' needs.

• Responsible for assisting cook/supervisor with food preparation and service using specific procedures, following guidelines, and regulations.
• Responsible for delivering residents’ meal carts, and setting and cleaning assigned dining area(s) to serve residents.
• Accurately recording temperatures on refrigerators; clean and stock as needed.
• Wash and store dishes; adhering to overall sanitation and maintenance of the kitchen.
• Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and Community rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Responsible for acting in conformance with all facility and departmental policies and procedures including those relating to Human Resources, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Health and Safety regulations, Compliance requirements, Patient Rights, Confidentiality, and HIPAA. Responsible for acting in conformance with accrediting agency standards.
• Attends department meetings as required.
• Demonstrates accountability to accept responsibility for personal/professional growth and any required certifications/licenses, if applicable.
• Completes mandatory training and competencies annually.

This is an hourly position, expected hours include days, evenings, some weekends, and some holidays.
