Job summary

The Server at Morningside House of Spotsylvania is a warm, attentive team member delivering meals and dining services to residents under the direction of the Director of Dining Services. This part-time/PRN role supports daily meal service, tray setup, sanitation, and resident interaction in a memory care community.

Shifts are flexible between 6:30 am and 8 pm; prior food service experience is welcomed but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Experience in a dining or food service setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals in an appetizing presentation.
• Assist in serving meals on a timely basis.
• Set up dining areas and assist in meal preparation as needed.
• Maintain clean tables, carts, and eating areas.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation policies and procedures.

Server - Position Summary:

The Server provides assistance in all food functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures services to our residents. This position reports to the Director of Dining Services.

Server - Essential Responsibilities:

Flexible to work shifts between 6:30 am - 8pm

• Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Server assists in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Clean tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
• Sweep and mop floors as directed.
• Carry soiled utensils, etc., to wash area.
• Server returns clean utensils to proper storage areas.
• Carry out garbage and keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
• Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed.
• Assist cook in preparing meals.
• Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
• Obtain food supplies for next meal.
• Assist in checking diet trays before distribution.
• Deliver food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas.
• Serve food in dining room as instructed.
• Server performs dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assure that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal.
• Prepare and deliver snacks, etc., as instructed.
• Performs all duties in adherence to Morningside House of Spotsylvania standards.
• Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
• Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and co-workers.

Server - Requirements:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
