Job summary

The Hoppy Gnome in Fort Wayne, Indiana is seeking a server to provide attentive service, greet guests, and explain promotions. You will take orders, input them into the POS system, and deliver meals and beverages to tables while ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.

Applicants should be at least 18, have a Food Worker Card, and ideally one year of serving experience. Strong English communication and a friendly, professional demeanor are required.

Responsibilities

• Service of food and/or beverage to include order-taking, delivery and clearing of items.
• Greets guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explains specials/promotions.
• Takes the order and inputs into POS to inform kitchen of order details.
• Retrieves prepared order and delivers to guests.
• Ascertain guest satisfaction throughout the meal service.
• Comply with all state/federal regulations and liquor policies pertaining to serving alcohol to minors or intoxicated guests.

Job description

• Service of food and/or beverage to include the order-taking, delivery and clearing of any food and/or beverage items
• Checks station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness
• Greets the guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or restaurant promotions for guest awareness
• Takes the order and inputs the order into the Point of Sale computer to inform the kitchen of the particulars of the order
• Retrieves order from kitchen, confirms its accuracy and delivers it to guests
• Ascertain guest satisfaction throughout the meal service
• Abide by all state, federal regulations and restaurant liquor policies pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Valid Food Worker Card required
• Prefer a minimum of one year of previous serving experience
• Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbal and written)
• Must have a courteous, friendly and professional demeanor
• Ability to stand, walk, and carry food trays for prolonged periods of time
