Job summary

Essex Meadows is seeking a Server to join our culinary team in a fine dining setting. We offer part-time and full-time opportunities with flexible scheduling, including weekends and events.

You will assist residents and guests, communicate menu knowledge and specials, handle service trays safely, and uphold cleanliness throughout the dining areas. Training is provided, and we foster an engaging, supportive workplace.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer, or answer questions.
• Ability to work with residents, guests, families, management and peers.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a high level of customer service for residents and guests.
• Have knowledge of all current offerings and specials.
• Carry and handle service trays in a safe and professional manner.
• Learn the department’s steps of service during meals and make appropriate suggestions.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of side stations and equipment; restock as needed.
• Fulfill all assigned side work during and before the end of shift.
• Assist with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes if needed.
• Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Perform duties as assigned by management.

• Learn the department’s steps of service throughout the meal period, answering questions, and making appropriate suggestions regarding food and beverages.
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of side stations and equipment, reporting any equipment problems immediately to the manager.Keep service items restocked as needed throughout the service period.
• Fulfill all assigned side work during and prior to the end of your shift.
• Assists with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes if needed.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer, or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, management and peers.

Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
