Essex Meadows in Centerbrook, CT, seeks friendly servers for part-time and full-time opportunities. Earn $18 per hour with 20 to 40 hours per week, including weekends, holidays, and events as needed, in a refined dining environment.

General Summary:

Join our culinary team and deliver hands‑on, hospitality‑focused service in a fine dining setting. Whether you’re experienced or eager to learn, we’ll train you to shine.

• Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests.
• Have knowledge of all current offerings and specials.
• Properly carry and handle service trays in a safe and professional manner.
• Learn the department’s steps of service throughout the meal period, answering questions, and making appropriate suggestions regarding food and beverages.
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of side stations and equipment, reporting any equipment problems immediately to the manager.Keep service items restocked as needed throughout the service period.
• Fulfill all assigned side work during and prior to the end of your shift.
• Assists with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes if needed.
• Attends in‑service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer, or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, management and peers.

Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
