Job summary

Essex Meadows in Essex, CT, is seeking friendly servers for part-time and full-time opportunities in our upscale dining environment. You will deliver attentive, hospitality-focused service to residents and guests, learn the menu, and contribute to a polished dining experience.

We offer consistent scheduling, no late nights, comprehensive benefits for full-time staff, and opportunities for professional growth. Training is provided, and daily pay options are available to help with cash flow.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer, or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, management and peers.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests.
• Have knowledge of all current offerings and specials.
• Properly carry and handle service trays in a safe and professional manner.
• Learn the department’s steps of service throughout the meal period, answering questions, and making appropriate suggestions regarding food and beverages.
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of side stations and equipment, reporting any equipment problems immediately to the manager. Keep service items restocked as needed throughout the service period.
• Fulfill all assigned side work during and prior to the end of your shift.
• Assists with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes if needed.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
