Job summary

Miller’s Ale House is seeking an energetic Server to warmly greet Guests, ensure guest satisfaction, and maintain high service standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will take orders, serve food and beverages, and uphold sanitation and safety protocols. The role requires teamwork, clear communication, and attentiveness to guest needs throughout shifts in a busy restaurant setting.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to work with guests in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, maintaining high service standards.
• Capable of multitasking and handling cash with accuracy in a busy environment.
• Familiarity with restaurant POS software and basic reading/handwriting skills.

Responsibilities

• Arrives to work on time as scheduled in full uniform.
• Greets Guests in a warm and friendly manner while acknowledging all Guests within five feet.
• Follows the steps of service as defined in Miller’s Ale House training materials.
• Provides highest level of service by adhering to Miller’s Ale House standards, creating “Ale House Raving Fans.”
• Serves alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards and state requirements.
• Works with Team Members to fulfill Guests’ needs in a timely manner.
• Ensures menu knowledge to address Guests’ questions, including food allergy issues.
• Maintains proper food handling and sanitation; keeps stations clean and organized.
• Stocks work areas and ensures readiness for the next server; leaves areas clean on departure.
• Notifies Management of any potential issues with Guests or long ticket times.
• Works the “To Go” station when assigned by Management.
• Washes hands regularly and maintains safety and sanitation protocol.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Arrives to work on time as scheduled in full uniform
• Greets Guests in a warm and friendly manner while also acknowledging all Guests that come within five feet
• Follows the steps of service as defined in the Miller’s Ale House training materials
• Provides highest level of service by adhering to all Miller’s Ale House service standards, creating “Ale House Raving Fans”
• Serves alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards and state alcohol service requirements
• Works directly with other Team Members to ensure all Guest’s needs are fulfilled in a timely manner
• Ensures menu knowledge to address Guests’ questions, including food allergy issues
• Ensures proper food handling and sanitation of work areas
• Maintains neat and organized server stations and FOH work areas; to include sweeping and mopping as needed
• Ensures work areas are stocked and ready for the next scheduled server as well as cleanliness upon departure
• Notifies Management immediately of any potential issue with Guests, Team Members, and/or long ticket times
• Works “To Go” station when assigned by Management

SAFETY & SANITATION

• Washes hands every 30 minutes throughout the shift
• Serves all food and alcohol within accordance of company standards and state service requirements
• Maintains clean and sanitized work areas
• Works with Team Members to ensure that safety and sanitation protocol is being executed to company standard

TEAWORK, SKILLS & EDUCATION

• Supports other Front of House functions as needed, ensuring that everything within the 4 walls of the restaurant is every Team Member’s responsibility
• Positively communicates with other Team Members and Management to keep one another informed
• Provides exceptional service throughout the entire shift
• Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to work alone as well as with a team
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work with numbers and handle cashBasic reading and handwriting skills with ability to operate the restaurant point-of-sale software
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age unless otherwise dictated by state law
• Sets up Team Members for success at shift change by ensuring side work and stations are properly stocked

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The Server is expected to be able to perform the job functions with reasonable accommodation. Physical demands include:

• Remain standing for extended periods of time
• Bending, squatting, and lifting, up to 20 lbs., for short distancesAbility to work with varying noise levels
• Frequent communication with Managers, Team Members and Guests. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
