Job summary

Generation Hospitality Group is seeking a Server in our Restaurant department in Billings, MT. This hourly, full-time role focuses on delivering a welcoming dining experience, guiding guests through the menu, and executing orders with accuracy in a fast-paced setting.

You will balance friendly service with speed, maintain a clean service area, and collaborate with hosts, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure guest satisfaction while adhering to safety and alcohol-service policies.

Qualifications

• Prior server or customer-facing experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, friendly and professional demeanor.
• Clear English communication, verbal and written.
• Basic math, cash handling and POS operation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Team player with willingness to assist colleagues.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; lift and carry trays.
• Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of food safety or willingness to complete training.
• Minimum age per local laws, especially for alcohol service.

About The Role

As a Server in our Restaurant department, you will play a key role in delivering a welcoming, efficient, and memorable dining experience for every guest. This hourly, full-time position requires a strong focus on hospitality, communication, and teamwork. You will be responsible for guiding guests through the menu, accurately taking and delivering orders, and maintaining a clean and organized service area. Success in this role comes from balancing friendly, attentive service with speed, accuracy, and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

• Greet guests promptly and warmly, presenting menus and explaining daily specials or promotions
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the POS system in a timely manner
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, including ingredients, preparation, and potential allergens
• Serve food and beverages according to restaurant standards, ensuring correct orders and attractive presentation
• Check back with guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and address any issues or additional requests
• Handle payment transactions, process cash and card payments, and issue receipts accurately
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked dining area, including tables, service stations, and beverage stations
• Collaborate closely with hosts, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures, including proper handling of food and beverages
• Support opening and closing duties such as setting up sections, rolling silverware, and side work as assigned
• Comply with restaurant policies, including responsible alcohol service and guest identification checks where applicable
• Professionally address guest complaints or concerns and elevate to a manager when necessary

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a server or in a customer-facing role in a restaurant or hospitality environment preferred
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, positive, and professional demeanor
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Basic math skills and comfort handling cash and operating a POS system
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist colleagues as needed
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to lift and carry trays, plates, and other items as required
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices or willingness to complete required training
• Minimum age requirement as determined by local laws and regulations, especially for serving alcohol

The Pay Range For This Role Is

10.85 - 10.85 USD per hour(Hilton Garden Inn Billings)
