Serology Medical Technologist I - ASCP required

Overview

HJF is seeking a Serology Medical Technologist I to support the Diagnostics and Countermeasures Branch (DCB) at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Spring, Maryland. The role requires American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification.

Responsibilities
  • Perform serological screening assays for HIV detection and specimen processing according to SOPs, manufacturer guidelines, and regulations.
  • Review sample data and quality control results, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to safety and quality protocols.
  • Record and manage data accurately in laboratory information systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and participate in training as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in life sciences preferred.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience required.
  • ASCP certification in cytology, histology, microbiology, serology-immunology, hematology, clinical chemistry, or immunohematology required.
Work Environment & Schedule
  • Primarily laboratory setting.
  • On-site position, 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday with Saturday rotation.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly pay range: $24.09-$33.65, based on experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health coverage, retirement plans, etc.
Additional Notes

This position requires U.S. residency for the past three of five years and the ability to obtain a background check.

Note: No evening shifts required. The role is based in Maryland, supporting military medical research efforts.
