Job summary

Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD-OMH) in South Carolina seeks a Sergeant to lead Public Safety operations at the Williams S. Hall and G.W. Bryan Psychiatric Hospital campuses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree may substitute.
• Class I certification through SC Criminal Justice Academy per statute SC 23-23-40.
• Two years of experience in law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and assist the Lieutenant in enforcing state laws and agency policies.
• Supervise shift personnel; prepare shift schedules and transport clients.
• Review reports on incidents and prepare detailed documentation to support investigations.
• Ensure compliance with CALEA standards within your sections and supervise incident reporting.
