Job summary

Wind River Environmental is seeking a skilled Installation Technician to safely install and service residential and commercial septic systems. You will operate heavy equipment, read blueprints, and coordinate with inspectors to ensure work meets code.

This daytime, non-CDL role emphasizes independent work and customer interaction. Responsibilities include trenching with excavators and skid steers, installing tanks and piping, and performing inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of heavy equipment operation experience (excavators, skid steers).
• Prior septic installation and repair experience required.
• Ability to read and draw simple septic system diagrams.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Must pass a DOT drug screen, physical exam, and road test.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and skid steers to dig trenches for septic tanks and drain lines.
• Read and interpret blueprints and site plans to determine proper system layout.
• Install septic tanks and piping systems according to local codes and permit requirements.
• Work with inspectors, suppliers, and team members to complete projects correctly and efficiently.
• Perform system inspections for real estate transactions and troubleshooting services.
• Educate customers on system operation, maintenance, and available service options.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation for each job.
• Work overtime, weekends, and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
