Job summary

Wind River Environmental is seeking a skilled Installation Technician to safely install septic systems for residential and commercial sites. You will operate excavators and skid steers, read blueprints, and coordinate with inspectors and customers to ensure compliant, high-quality work.

Requirements include 3+ years of heavy equipment operation, septic installation experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of heavy equipment operation experience (excavators, skid steers).
• Prior septic installation and repair experience required.
• Ability to read and draw simple septic system diagrams.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must pass a DOT drug screen, physical, and road test.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and skid steers to dig trenches for septic tanks and drain lines.
• Read and interpret blueprints and site plans for proper system layout.
• Install septic tanks and piping systems per local codes and permit requirements.
• Coordinate with inspectors, suppliers, and team members to complete projects.
• Perform system inspections for real estate transactions and troubleshooting services.
• Educate customers on system operation, maintenance, and service options.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation for each job.
• Work overtime, weekends, and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
