Job summary

Hamilton College is seeking an SEO Content Writer to be a strategic storyteller with strong digital instincts. You will partner with Communications and Marketing to refine the College’s web presence through high-impact content updates, SEO-informed recommendations, and ongoing optimization that resonates with prospective students, alumni, and the broader community.

Qualifications

• Experience creating and optimizing digital content for both audiences and search performance.
• Familiarity with SEO practices, web content management systems, and digital accessibility standards.
• Knowledge of AP Style preferred.
• Experience in higher education or nonprofit settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, update, and optimize webpage content as assigned to improve clarity, usability, accessibility, and alignment with brand voice.
• Apply and recommend SEO and content best practices (including evolving search and AI trends) to enhance visibility and audience reach.
• Assist with crafting audience-focused email content that drives engagement and action.
• Participate periodically in Content Strategy meetings to contribute ideas, surface opportunities, and align on priorities.
• Provide support for priority digital initiatives, marketing campaigns, and content-driven projects across the College.
