Job Summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Structural Engineer to join the Sentinel Infrastructure Analysis Team in Roy, Utah. The role supports the Sentinel program and future upgrades to the Minuteman III missile and existing flight test facilities.

Relocation assistance may be available.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze facilities and subsystems for the Sentinel program.
• Develop structural engineering specifications for materials and component performance.
• Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables, and structural modeling—including dynamics, loads, stability, fatigue, and thermal analysis.
• Use CAD/CAE tools such as CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer, ABAQUS, ANSYS, FEMAP (with Nastran), and MATLAB for analysis and data manipulation.
• Support related areas: thermal analysis, bolted joint, welded joint analysis, and other structural specialties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with at least 2 years of experience, or Master’s degree with no experience.
• U.S. citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance (investigation completed within the last 5 years).
• Experience running dynamic or static analysis.
• Proficiency with ABAQUS, ANSYS, FEMAP, and programming in MATLAB.
• Knowledge of structural test applications, seismic analysis (ASCE 7), missile program requirements, NX 3D models, CPLM, and TeamCenter CPLM is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Proficient writer and verbal communicator of technical content.
• Additional experience with ABAQUS, FEMAP, ANSYS, or exposure to structural test applications.
• Experience with seismic analysis, missile program requirements, and propulsion.
• Experience navigating NX 3D models and CPLM, TeamCenter CPLM.

Benefits and Compensation

Salary range: $79,300 - $118,900. Eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and Long Term Incentives for higher roles.
