Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer for the Launch Support System (LSS) team, based in Roy, Utah, supporting the Sentinel program.

The role focuses on MBSE modeling, requirements decomposition, and verification planning to ensure traceability from SOW to implementation. The position requires US citizenship with a Secret clearance and a background in Systems Engineering, with experience in Cameo, DOORS, and model-based approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years' experience (or 3 with Master's; 1 with PhD).
• Sr. Principal requires 8 years' experience (6 with Masters; 4 with PhD).
• US Citizenship with active Secret clearance within last 6 years is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval is required.
• At least 2 years' modeling with Cameo or similar tools; 3 years in Systems Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain MBSE models in Cameo, ensuring traceability.
• Lead requirements decomposition and flow-down across the specification tree.
• Plan and execute verification and validation activities for LSS.
• Develop technical plans, verify system requirements, and lead reviews.
• Manage LSS requirements in DOORS with cross-functional coordination.
• Prepare materials for Flight Test Design Reviews and process changes.
• Advance model-based techniques and tool integration across the team.
• Demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving across the program.

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal / Sr Principal Systems Engineer for the Launch Support System (LSS) team. This position is located in Roy, Utah and supports the Sentinel program.

Northrop Grumman System Test Team, Launch Support System (LSS) has an opening for a Principal / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer. LSS is a team well positioned to have a major impact on the Sentinel program and is staffed with many diverse disciplines to achieve our design goals. Our Team is tasked with deploying a flight test specific product. LSS has a significant and valuable impact on range safety and flight data management through the life of the Sentinel program and coordinates with multiple other product groups.

What You'll Get To Do:

• Develop and maintain MBSE models for the Launch Support System (LSS) in Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, and analytical), driving model consistency and traceability
• Lead requirements decomposition, derivation, and flow-down across the specification tree into LSS architecture and design, ensuring full traceability from SOW through implementation
• Plan and execute verification and validation activities for LSS, including integration, test, and field operations, ensuring requirements are objectively demonstrated
• Perform technical planning; develop, decompose, and verify system requirements; and lead stakeholder and peer technical reviews of LSS engineering documentation and model content
• Manage LSS requirements in DOORS and coordinate closely with design, test, and other IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts
• Prepare and present LSS materials and model-based artifacts for Flight Test Design Reviews and process changes through engineering review boards
• Develop and refine model-based techniques, procedures, and processes to improve model development, tool integration, and team integration
• Demonstrate strong technical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills while modeling ethics and integrity and collaborating effectively across the program

Basic Qualifications:

• This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems Engineer level (T-03) or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer level (T-04).
• Principal Systems Engineer : Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree, 1 year with a PhD
• Sr. Principal Systems Engineer : Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 Years of related experience; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
• Required for both levels: Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
• Required for both levels: Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
• Required for both levels: At least 2 years experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture or MagicDraw (No Magic, Inc.) or other architecture modeling tools
• Required for both levels: 3 years of experience must be in Systems Engineering
